Privacy Policy
How AgriView collects, uses, protects and deletes information.
AgriView ("AgriView", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and process it, the services we use, how information is retained and deleted, and the choices available to you when you use the AgriView mobile application and related services. By using AgriView, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, AgriView may collect or process the following information.
1.1 Account Information
When you create or use an AgriView account, we may collect:
- Name or username
- Email address
- Phone number, if provided
- Firebase Authentication account identifiers
- Other information necessary to manage your account
We use this information to: create and manage your account; authenticate you; provide account-related functionality; maintain account security; provide customer support; and process account deletion requests.
1.2 Location Information
AgriView may request access to your device's location to provide location-based weather information. Location may be used to determine your current or nearby location, provide relevant weather information, and improve weather-related functionality. We do not intend to permanently store your precise device location in our application database for the weather feature. You can control location access through your device settings — disabling it may affect weather functionality.
1.3 Scan Images and Scan Information
AgriView may allow you to submit agricultural images for Smart Scan or related analysis features. Depending on the implementation of the feature: images may be temporarily transmitted to a processing service; images may be processed to generate an analysis or result; images used only for processing may be deleted after processing when the applicable workflow is completed; and scan results and scan history may be stored when required to provide the scan-history feature. AgriView does not currently use Firebase Storage as a permanent storage location for user scan images. If our image-storage or processing practices materially change, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
1.4 Quiz and Learning Information
AgriView may store information related to your learning activity, including quiz progress, MCQ progress, questions attempted, scores, examination results, completion status, bookmarks, favorites, and other learning-related information. This is used to provide learning, progress-tracking, examination, and personalization features.
1.5 Notification Information
AgriView may use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Technical information associated with delivery may include Firebase installation identifiers, FCM registration tokens, and device/application information necessary for delivery. Notification data may be processed by Firebase as necessary to provide the messaging service.
1.6 Device and Technical Information
AgriView and its technical services may automatically process technical information such as device model, operating system, application version, device configuration, crash information, technical identifiers, installation identifiers, timestamps, and application state relevant to technical diagnostics. This is primarily used for security, diagnostics, crash reporting, troubleshooting, and service improvement.
2. Firebase Services
AgriView uses Firebase services provided by Google to operate certain application features, which may include Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase App Check, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Analytics. Firebase Storage is not currently used by AgriView as permanent storage for user scan images.
2.1 Firebase Authentication
Used to create and authenticate user accounts. Depending on the authentication method, Firebase may process your email address, phone number, account identifiers, and authentication-related technical information.
2.2 Cloud Firestore
May be used to store application data associated with your account, including profile information, scan history, scan results, quiz/MCQ progress, bookmarks, favorites, and other application data necessary to provide requested features.
2.3 Firebase Cloud Messaging
May be used to deliver application notifications. Firebase may process technical identifiers and messaging tokens required for delivery.
2.4 Firebase App Check
AgriView uses Firebase App Check to help protect Firebase resources and backend services against unauthorized or abusive requests.
2.5 Firebase Crashlytics
Used to identify, diagnose, and resolve application crashes and technical problems. Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, relevant application state, device and OS information, application version, package information, crash timestamps, Crashlytics and Firebase installation identifiers, and other technical diagnostic information. Firebase states that Crashlytics crash stack traces and associated identifiers are retained for approximately 90 days before the removal process begins. We do not intentionally use Crashlytics to collect passwords, payment-card information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information unrelated to crash diagnosis.
2.6 Firebase Analytics
AgriView may use Firebase Analytics to understand application usage and improve functionality — including events such as application usage, feature interactions, application version, and related technical information — for understanding feature usage, improving functionality, identifying technical or usability problems, and improving performance and experience.
3. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to provide and operate AgriView; create and manage accounts; authenticate users; provide weather functionality; process Smart Scan requests; display scan results; maintain scan history; track quiz and MCQ progress; save bookmarks and favorites; deliver requested notifications; protect application services; prevent misuse and unauthorized access; diagnose crashes; troubleshoot technical problems; improve application stability and performance; provide customer support; and comply with applicable legal requirements. We do not sell your personal information.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate AgriView, including Google/Firebase services, authentication providers, database providers, notification services, analytics services, crash-reporting services, weather service providers, image-processing or AI-processing infrastructure, and hosting and security providers. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, valid legal process, court order, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of AgriView, its users, or others.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure — including encrypted network communication where supported, Firebase security controls, Firebase App Check, authentication controls, access restrictions, security monitoring, and crash/technical monitoring. However, no electronic storage system or Internet transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, maintain your account, maintain application functionality and security, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and perform legitimate operational purposes. When you delete your account, associated account information and application data that we are not legally or legitimately required to retain will be deleted or anonymized. Third-party services may have their own retention periods — for example, Firebase states that Crashlytics crash stack traces and associated identifiers are retained for approximately 90 days before removal begins.
7. Account and Data Deletion
AgriView provides account deletion through an in-app account deletion option and an external account deletion webpage: agriview.in/delete-account. When an account deletion request is completed, we will delete or anonymize associated account data that we are not legally or legitimately required to retain, which may include name/username, email address, phone number, account identifiers, scan history, scan results, quiz/MCQ progress, bookmarks, favorites, and other account-associated application information. Certain information processed by third-party services may be subject to their own deletion and retention procedures. Limited information may be retained where necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims. Google Play requires account-creation apps to provide both an in-app and external account-deletion mechanism and to delete associated user data when deletion is completed, subject to legitimate retention requirements.
8. Children's Privacy
AgriView is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, please contact us.
9. Your Choices
Depending on the features available, you may update your account information; manage device permissions; disable location access; manage notification permissions; access saved application information; delete your account; request deletion of personal information; and contact us regarding privacy questions.
10. Third-Party Services
Third-party services used by AgriView operate under their own privacy policies and terms. AgriView may use third-party services for authentication, database functionality, notifications, analytics, crash reporting, weather information, AI/image processing, hosting, and security. We recommend reviewing the applicable third-party privacy policies for information about their independent processing practices.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when application features change, data-processing practices change, third-party services change, or legal or regulatory requirements change. The "Last Updated" date will be updated when changes are published.
